Vince GiRonda’s Supplement Regimen

By Jordan Leave a Comment | Last updated on February 24, 2023

Vince GiRonda knew his stuff. He advocated the use of a few select supplements to aid bodybuilders and fitness enthusiast an edge in their pursuit of muscle construction.

These are the supplements Vince GiRonda endorsed and subscribed his trainees to. (The brands are not the same as what Vince used. Some of the old school supplement companies no longer exist.)

Desiccated Liver Tablets

Old School bodybuilders would take 50-100 liver tablets a day.

Beef liver is a true superfood. It’s loaded with vitamins, minerals and protein. Liver tablets give you energy and help with muscle building and workout recovery.

I use and recommend Universal Uni-Liver Tablets.

Take 4 with each meal every day. And gradually increase the does to 10 per meal. I also take 10-20 liver tablets 45 minutes before a workout to supercharge my workout.

Iron & Grit Supplement Score: A+

Kelp Tablets

Kelp is loaded with vitamins and minerals like Magnesium, calcium and iron. Kelp supplements have another very important nutrient: Iodine.

Iodine ensures your cells stay healthy and makes sure they adhere to their biological rhythm. This prevents cell mutations which can cause many health problems.

The Iodine in Kelp helps boost metabolism and improves thyroid health.

Kelp also helps muscle contract harder, improves digestion and in turn gives you better results overall.

Iron & Grit Supplement Score Kelp Tablets: A

I use and recommend NOW Supplements Kelp With Natural Iodine.

Vitamin C

Classic vitamin C is known to boost immune system and make your whole body healthy and run more efficiently.

Vitamin C also helps reduce muscle soreness and aid muscle recovery.

Nothing sets you back like an illness so take preventative measures to stay healthy.

Iron & Grit Supplement Score: B+

I use and recommend Nature’s Bounty Vitamin C.

Calcium

Your bone strength is a main factor in how much muscle mass you can produce.

Strong bones a the foundation of strong muscles you care must be taken to ensure bone strength and bone density.

Calcium can also help keep your anxiety levels in check.

I use and recommend a Vitamin and Mineral cocktail of Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc with added Vitamin D. All of which provide amazing health benefits.

Iron & Grit Supplement Score: A-

Digestive Enzymes

Most people’s bodies are beaten down by trying to digest fake foods with artificial ingredients.

Food is also less nutritious these days due to over-farming, so your system has to work harder for less.

Make the most of each meal with digestive enzymes. Digestive enzymes improve nutrient absorption. They make digestion more efficient and allow your meals to be utilized by your body to the fullest extent.

The importance of proper digestion cannot be understated. A healthy body needs a healthy gut. And digestive enzymes help keep your gut healthy.

Iron & Grit Supplement Score: B

Whey Protein Powder

Protein powder is great when you want a protein shake as a snack or for extra calories throughout your day.

The best protein supplements come from Transparent Labs. They are fully open about the ingredients in their products. And I believe they are the best ingredients you can get.

I use and recommend Transparent Labs Grass-Fed Whey Isolate Protein Powder.

Final Thoughts on Supplementation

I have a few things to say about supplements. A lot of supplement companies are take-the-money-and-run types.

They aren’t supplements companies at all – they are marketing companies.

What they do is purchase products in bulk from ‘white label’ producers. White label products are generic mass-produced cheaply made products.

Then the supplement company puts their label on it and says it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Even though it’s exactly the same as all the other low-grade garbage peddled by another sorry excuse for a nutrition company.

I say all that to say this: Buyer beware.

Most supplements on the market are a waste of money. Many will not help you one bit and some may actually make you worse off by taking them.

Don’t Rely on Supplements

Supplements are just that – they should only serve to SUPPLEMENT your diet. Supplements might give you 5-10% of your total nutrition. 90-95% of your nutrients should be ingested through whole foods.

Nothing can take the place of wholesome nutrition from all-natural foods. So make sure you get plenty of good food to eat. The supplements are the cherry on top.
