Getting in shape is hard. Believe me, I know.
I used to weigh 235 pounds, and at least 30 pounds of it wasn’t muscle. Now I’m a lean and mean 200 pounds on the dot.
It took a lot of time, energy, blood, sweat and tears to get in shape. Sculpting a noteworthy physique takes sacrifice.
You have to show up to the gym and kick your own ass every day.
It’s a tough business getting buff, but it’s also worth every bit of effort.
Once you start turning heads, there’s no turning back. You’re hooked. Life will never be the same. And it’s all for the better.
Before you begin, here’s a quick word of caution for any man looking to transform into Hercules: Don’t listen to the fitness influencers when they say it’s easy. They lie like rugs. Anyone who says getting in shape is easy never had a clue (or they have a bridge to sell you.)
Now, that being said, with the right information you can get results 5x faster. This is especially true if you’re a newbie. This is why it’s important to hire a competent trainer with a proven record of results. It will save a lot of time and frustration by eliminating the guesswork.
Today, though, I will share a little slice of advice to help make your fitness journey a little bit more of a pleasure cruise. No charge and no tip required.
Here it is, you ready?
The easiest way to lose weight is to eat less of the stuff that makes you fat in the first place. I feel like a moron saying that, but it’s true. The tricky part is understanding what food will help you get into shape and what will hurt you. The food world is full of smoke and mirrors. It’s easy to get off course if you’re not careful.
This article will get you on track. Now, let’s get you going in the right direction.
How to make it easier to get in shape
Dieting is the hardest part of getting in shape. Working out is easy peasy pie compared to dieting.
Here’s why:
You only need to spend one hour a day working out. You get in the gym and you get out. Done.
It’s the other 15 waking hours of the day outside the gym that get ya into trouble. It’s during this time that you’re constantly fighting the temptation to eat bad food. And temptation is everywhere.
Fast food, gas station snacks, processed garbage in grocery stores, the office potluck, it’s all trash. I’ll bet your pantry is full of shelf-stablized processed foodstuff just waiting for your next Netflix binge.
To make matters worse, there’s metabolic poison disguised as health food.
Example: Meatless meat.
Are you kidding me? It’s all vegetable fat (the worst kind of fat).
There are a million others. You’re outnumbered. But don’t lose heart. Remember, knowledge is power. Know they enemy and you can crush him.
As you draw up your battle plan, here’s a word of advice to aid you in your uphill battle…
Learn everything you can about the food you eat.
Learn as much about your food as possible.
Where is it from? Who grew it? How is it raised? How is it made? What is in it exactly?
If you ask these questions most people will look at you blankly. They don’t know. Nobody knows. And that’s why they are fat, sick and nearly dead.
If you knew what’s in your food, you wouldn’t want to eat it.
Big Food Company knows this, and they try very hard to conceal this fact. They spend B-B-Billions of dollars every year to convince you their foodstuff is good.
Here’s the truth:
It’s not good for you.
Big Food Co wants you to be a consumer for life. Products are created accordingly. Your biology is used against you to create tasty treats you can’t resist.
Chemical additives, artificial sweeteners, genetically modified organisms (GMO), fake coloring, pesticides, and sugar, sugar and more sugar.
Food is a business. Businesses must increase revenue and decrease expenses. This is typically done at your expense. All they see is a big fat dollar sign over your head. That’s all you are to them. Sounds harsh, but that’s reality. Sooner you learn it the better off you will be.
Here’s what you can do about it
The first thing you need to do is become aware of the problem. Don’t be a sucker. Educate yourself. No one is going to tell you the truth. Many don’t know it and most don’t care to tell you. It’s up to you to realize that YOU are responsible for your health.
Your first line of defense is reading the labels on food packaging. If you don’t know an ingredient, look it up and see how it’s made. Follow the ingredients all the way to the source. What you find will disturb you. It won’t take long to realize we’ve been duped.
Once I found out what was in my food it was easy to quit eating it.
When I found out that sugar made my face break out in giant zits I stopped eating it. It became easy to give up sweets when my reward was clear, healthy skin.
Once I found out food oil and syrups are essentially industrial chemicals, it was easy to stop eating them. Once I realized that I was paying for garbage it was easy to stop buying it.
And you want to know what else happened?
I slept better, I felt better and I looked better than ever. I felt strong and had high spirits like I haven’t had in a long time.
Bottom line: If man made it, don’t eat it.
If you want to live a happier, healthier life then you must eat well. Eat like your life depends on it, because it does. Eating well means eating naturally.
So, cut the crap.
You will feel a whole lot better when you’re not full of someone else’s shit.
