Here’s how you can control your food cravings and eat less (if that’s your objective).
Don’t really on willpower. Willpower is fleeting. It’s a feeling. And feelings change on a whim. Construct and environment for success.
Tips to diet better
1. Change where you eat
Eat in a new place and you’ll be less comfortable to just chow down with reckless abandon.
2. Use different dishes and silverware
Eat using paper plates. use a smaller plate or bowl. Fill it once and after you finish it that’s int your meal is done.
3. Eat with your other hand
Eat with your non dominant hand. You’ll eat slower and likely eat less calories. You’ll hav e to think through the motion. Taking more time each bite. Plus it’s good for your mind and muscles.
4. Eat by candle light
We eat with our eyes. Dim the lights and your appetite will chill out a bit.
5. Listen to music while eating instead of watching television.
We munch mindlessly when watching tv. Plus a show is longer than a song. You can eat the whole show long. A song changing every 3 or 4 minutes will subconsciously tell you that you’ve been eating a while.
6. Chew your food
Chew your food into a fine paste before swallowing. Saliva starts the digestion process. The more you chew your foods the better you can absorb the nutrients from it.
Chewing each bite for a long time slows down the rate of consumption and ultimately reduces the amount of calories consumed during the meal.
7. Don’t buy bad foods
Don’t by the foods that you don’t want to eat. Don’t have them anywhere near you. It starts with your shopping cart. Impossible to eat what you don’t have.
8. Don’t drive by fast food restaurant
Don’t drive by McDonalds if your weakness is Big Macs. Go a different way.
